The Boomer Broads are mad. And you know what that means. Someone put a lock on the refrigerator!! We read today that an “anonymous” (aka coward) casting director says that whether we like it or not (and we don’t) unless Gabrielle Sidibe loses weight she will not be getting many, if any, future acting offers. “Look at what happened to Nikki Blonsky after Hairspray,” he/she/coward added. “Great actress. But too fat. No other parts came her way.”
And that’s not all. Thank heavens that embodiment of kindness and fairness, Howard Stern, has also piped in with his opinion. Here’s what he had to say yesterday on his Sirius radio show:
There’s the most enormous, fat black chick I’ve ever seen. She is enormous. Everyone’s pretending she’s a part of show business and she’s never going to be in another movie,’ he said. ‘She should have gotten the Best Actress award because she’s never going to have another shot. What movie is she gonna be in?’
He and co-host Robin Quivers went on to discuss the impossibility of Gabby finding any work in Hollywood after ‘Precious.’
‘And Oprah’s lying and saying you’re going to have a brilliant career,’ said Robin.
‘Oprah’s another liar, a filthy liar,’ said Stern. ‘She’s telling an enormous woman the size of a planet that she’s going to have a career.’
Oh that’s right Howard. Badmouth Oprah. That will grow your female audience numbers. And Robin Quivers? What are you doing siding with the Prince of Darkness and calling Oprah a liar? Did you lose half your brain cells when you went on that crazy fast diet? Honestly.
Well, it looks like Gabby will get the last laugh. According to entertainment website fararazzi.com, she’s lined up to appear on the new Showtime series ‘The C Word’ and her next big-screen appearance will be opposite Zoe Kravitz in the drama ‘Yelling to the Sky.’
Gabby…the Broads would much rather join you for a hot chocolate and a doughnut then sit down for a cup of joe and a cigarette with Lindsay Lohan, Megan Fox or the rest of the skinny Hollywood set. Rock on Gabby!! We loved you in “Precious” and we baby boomer women who haven’t seen a size 4 outfit in their closet for years salute you!
