Meet The Broads

The reason that Anne-Marie Aigner and Janet Prensky have worked together so successfully for over 20 years is that they complement each other: Anne-Marie drives the bus, Janet provides the fuel and keeps the engine tuned. They both determine where they’re going. And, along the way, they have managed to run a very successful marketing agency, they have pressed each other’s buttons, brought out the creativity in each other, been best friends, become Boomers – and developed Boomer Attitudes!

Anne-Marie Aigner

When Anne-Marie founded Aigner Associates in 1984, her goal was to apply her 15 years in broadcast journalism to marketing. For decades, she had investigated and reported the news for several Boston radio stations and for CBS-AM/NY. She had also worked behind the scenes at CBS-TV, in Paris, NY and Washington, D.C and on-air as a reporter for NBC Television in Boston. She began her professional life in broadcasting. Now she’s going back from whence she came, so to speak.
Anne-Marie has raised two kids while a single mom! The day her son was born, so too was Aigner Associates. In between work and kids, she has taught at Boston University, Emerson College, and elsewhere, has worked with numerous non-profits, especially those serving kids, established teen programs in her hometown, even created a regional month-long holiday event on Boston Common. At the age of 57 she took up cycling and did a 200-mile charity ride for cancer. Her second child graduates from college this year. Anne-Marie is still cycling – and “driving the bus”.

Janet Prensky

T
alk to Janet Prensky for a minute or two and you know immediately that this woman was MADE for radio! the voice, the jokes, the whole “shtick”. For the past 20 years, she has been Senior Vice President of a Boston-based marketing agency, but her background – her passion — is broadcasting: She was Boston’s first female sports radio talk host for WEEI-Radio, a talk show host for WBZ-AM, the “voice” for WBZ-TV, a radio and television traffic reporter and a broadcast journalist for CBS-Radio and WBZ-TV. She is the author of “Everywoman’s Guide to Auto Racing” – pretty ironic for a woman who failed her driver’s test three times! Janet was born in 1956. She is a bona fide Boomer Broad with Attitude.

Janet has taught a course on Radio Announcing for Emerson College and served on the Boston Sports Advisory Council. She has worked in a pro bono capacity for the Elderly Commission of Boston, Operation A.B.L.E. and the Boston Partnership for Older Adults. In her capacity with the New England Women’s Fund, Janet helped create the New England Women’s Sports Award Reception and the New England Women’s Sports Hall of Fame.
